How Does the Garbage Doctor Work?
The Garbage Doctor uses THREE advanced deodorising and germicidal technologies to provide treatment for the contaminated air in your garbage chute and bin room.
Because garbage chutes have an updraft caused by natural thermo-dynamics (similar to how a chimney works), it is important to provide treatment for the airborne pathogens and odours as close as possible to where these microorganisms are breeding in your bin or garbage compactor.

Germicidal UV-C Light |
| Germicidal UV-C is a specific band of light wave (253.7nm) which is deadly to forms of life at the micro-organic level. When bacteria, viruses, mold spores and other harmful microorganisms come into contact with the UV-C light within the Garbage Doctors stainless steel disinfection chamber, their DNA is disrupted and they are killed by a process called irradiation. |

| Ozone is simply a molecule which is made up of 3 atoms of Oxygen (O3). When Ozone comes into contact with an odour or other airborne pollutant, it immediately reverts itself back into regular Oxygen (02) and deposits its extra Oxygen atom onto the unwanted pollutant. This process is known as oxidation, and physically destroys the harmful pathogens or unwanted odours, and leaves in their place life-giving Oxygen (02)! Using Ozone in your garbage chute or garbage room is an extremely effective method of deodorization. |

| The Garbage Doctor contains a patented, nano grade photo-catalyst formula within its upper 'disinfection chamber'. When this formula is activated by an intense UV light, it acts as a natural catalyst with moisture in the ambient air, which creates a very powerful oxidising agent called Hydroxyl Radicals (-OH). These Hydroxyl Radicals only have a life span of a fraction of a second, but in this time they safely and effectively decompose harmful airborne pollutants inside the disinfection chamber, including; Odours, Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi, and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's). |

How an Un-protected Garbage Chute Works

The natural up-draft created by your garbage chute causes the odours and bacteria within your rubbish bins (or rubbish compactor) to be sucked up your garbage chute, and escape from the chute doors on each floor of your building. These odours and airborne pathogens then get inhaled by residents and guests; potentially spreading both unpleasant odours and disease. |

The Garbage Doctor is operating 24 hours a day to provide you with germ and odour control; As air passes through the disinfection chamber in the Garbage Doctor, it is treated by both the intense UV-C Germicidal Light and the Hydroxyl Radicals created by the Photo-Catalyst processes. Additionally, ultra pure Ozone is generated using our proprietary Si-Zone technology. This Ozone is then diffused into your garbage chute and rubbish bin (or garbage compactor).
