Privacy policy

Purifying Solutions Pty Ltd (ACN 106 878 031), ABN 87 106 878 031, of PO Box 956, Paradise Point QLD 4216 ("we" and "us") runs garbagedoctor.com.au. This policy says what we collect about you, why, who else handles your details, and what you can ask of us. Questions, and any request below, go to info@garbagedoctor.com.au.

• When you send an enquiry or ask for a quote: your name, organisation, email address, phone number, what you tell us about your building and bin room, and any photos or videos you send.
• When you call or email us: what you tell us, with your contact details.
• When you visit: the addresses of pages that weren't found, to fix broken links, and the site's own error records, to fix faults. If you sign in to the site's administration, your internet address for a short while, to keep sign-in safe from guessing.

• to answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and arrange an installation or service;
• to keep the records our business and tax law ask for;
• to keep the site safe, and working.

We don't sell your details, and we don't send marketing emails.

The site uses only the cookies the site needs to work: one that protects the site's forms, one that keeps an enquiry's photos and words together while you write the enquiry (and keeps staff signed in), and, before the site opens, one that remembers the site's password. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics.

A video plays from Vimeo only when you press play, and Vimeo's own policy then applies.

Only the services the site needs, each with a single job:

• Postmark, which sends our emails;
• Sevalla and Cloudflare, which host the site and the site's files and carry them to you;
• Backblaze, which keeps our encrypted backups;
• Vimeo, for videos you choose to play;
• Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp, for a video call, if you ask for one.

We also share details where the law requires us to.

The site and its database are hosted in Sydney, Australia. Our encrypted backups are kept in the United States. Where your details are kept overseas, we rely on our providers' standard protections.

Enquiries and quotes: 7 years. Internet addresses kept for sign-in safety: 30 days. Backups: up to 12 months, after which they're deleted.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct your details, or to delete them where we don't need to keep them by law. Write to info@garbagedoctor.com.au. We reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or in New Zealand to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Signing in to the site's administration needs a password and an emailed code. Photos and videos you send us are private, and only our office can open them. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server.

We may change this policy, and the date at the top shows when the policy last changed.
