For the largest chutes and bin rooms

The Ozone HD is designed for sites where high output or long runs of conduit are essential: garbage chutes of 50 to 100 levels, large bin rooms and compactor rooms, dispersing into exhaust ductwork, and sites with several areas to treat that are far enough apart to need two ozone generators. The HD carries the ozone over the distance, so one machine treats them all.

As with every Garbage Doctor®, the ozone is targeted at the source: the bins, the compactor and the chute, so the air is treated before rising through the building.

Garbage Doctor off

A bin room with a garbage chute rising to the first floorOdour rises from the bins, swirls around the room, travels up the chute and escapes at the chute door on the floor above. Then the Garbage Doctor machine switches on, and ozone travels through conduit to the bins and into the chute, breaking the odour down.Level 1Bin roomCHUTE

How the Garbage Doctor Ozone works: UV ozone travels through conduit to the bins and into the garbage chute, so the odour is neutralised before rising.

Concept view: air passes a carbon filter and UV lamps, and leaves as ozone Air in Ozone out

How the Garbage Doctor® makes ozone

  1. Air enters through a carbon filter along the bottom of the machine.
  2. The air passes UV lamps, which turn a small amount of the air's oxygen into ozone.
  3. The ozone leaves through the outlets on top and travels through PVC conduit to the bins and the chute.
  4. When the ozone meets the odour, the ozone breaks the odour down and turns back into oxygen.

Switch lamps on and off to see how the output changes. Blue lamps are full strength. Green lamps are half strength.

Installed and serviced by our licensed technicians

The Ozone HD mounts on the wall, and our technicians run PVC conduit or 38 mm food-grade silicone hose from the machine to each odour source, with small holes drilled wherever ozone is needed, then set the machine's output and airflow for your site. The Ozone HD is an industrial-grade machine, used on garbage chutes, loading docks, grease arrestors and waste systems of every kind.

We'll plan the installation for your building

You are welcome to send us photos or a video of your bin room and chute, or we can meet you on site, whichever suits you best. We'll recommend the right model and send you a quote, and our technicians install and set up the machine for your site. The Garbage Doctor works with chutes, bins, carousels and compactors from all manufacturers, including Elephants Foot, WasteTech, JJ Richards, Wanless, James Hardie and JD MacDonald.

Not sure which model you need? Send us photos or a plan of the building, and we'll recommend the one that suits your building.

Questions about the Ozone HD

Do we need the HD?

We may recommend the HD for the largest sites: the very tallest chutes, large or spread-out bin rooms, long runs of conduit, or several areas from one machine. In a small or medium bin room, the Ozone is the better choice, since the HD's stronger fan makes the ozone level harder to set just right. We'll recommend the one that suits your building.

Can one machine treat more than one area?

Yes, where they're within the machine's reach. The HD carries ozone through long runs of conduit, so areas that would normally need two machines can often share one.

Will the bin room smell of ozone?

The bin room shouldn't. We set the output so the odour is neutralised and a neutral smell, or a very slight smell of ozone, is left, and our technicians measure the ozone level on site with an ozone monitor.
